'Arry and Bert - Coming Next from the Sodor OO Works!

The Sodor OO Works next Diesel projects to be undertaken are 'Arry and Bert.

These two are long due for production, and have been wished for on the Bachmann forums by many fans, but, i have decided to redo the Mk I versions i made in earlier days, but this time, using Bachmann Devious Diesel's instead of the LIMA Class 08.

I will be using the same method as previous for Splatter and Dodge, and hopefully, 'Arry and Bert, will turn out just as good as they have done. :)

Splatter and Dodge Project - Weathered Down (Batch 6)

The models have been weathered down to look as they did in the movie, the kits i used were from Tamiya, and are water-based. The weathering on the rods and cranks has taken serious effect to give them the dirty/dusty look, which is what i was after, and the oil effect gives the bodies a good grimy effect, with some light dusting of sand in various spots on the running plate and main engine casing.

Just require their names adding now, and they are completed. :)

We have gotten word from our friends at The Diesel Works that Duck is due for release in October, though there is no pictures yet of the model, this news of the Great Western engine's arrival in the coming months is more than pleasing, and fans will be delighted to hear of this news. So for all those who are waiting for the HO scale 'Duck', the official release month is October 2012.

The Sodor OO Works - Lady Project?

A number of fans have been asking if we shall be considering Lady as a new project after Splatter and Dodge are finished off, and we are delighted to say that yes, we are indeed looking at making her to complete the Magic Railroad characters.

Most models of Lady we have seen have been made possible using the ERTL 'Lady', and so, we will be using the same method do make our Lady too.

TopKazzFatt's HO scale 'Lady', made using an ERTL model.

We hope to make the model as good as TopKazzFatt's, since his works have been a real inspiration to the OO works, and was the first to make a HO scale model using the ERTL body.

World of Thomas Modelling - Updates (July)

The blog is going through some more changes at present, all the pages that are blank and have not been attended to since the start, are finally being updated and logged with new material.

These hopefully will include:

- Reviews for both Bachmann & Hornby Thomas stuff.
- Members media works.
- Updates on the latest developing news from Bachmann.
- Layout projects and other works.

These updates will be taking effect over the new few weeks, so hopefully by mid-august, we should have most of the pages updated, and we will be looking to add further links to our pages, we already have lately had a wonderful recommendation from The Diesel Works, who we are proud to have as a friend of the community and have linked to our blog.

We hope that in time, they will get many happy customers, and wish them all the best from the World of Thomas Modelling. :)

Splatter & Dodge Project - Fully Painted (Batch 5)

The models are now fully painted, and only need weathering down and their names applied. I have ordered some vinyl lettering from Ebay, which will be here by mid week hopefully, once the names are added, they will be ready for use in Episode 7.

The faces are correct, a lot of people have been saying that they are the wrong ones, but in truth, they are accurate and 100% correct. I don't need to keep repeating myself, those that own models of the Hornby 'Arry and Bert, should instantly be able to tell the differences between their faces and Splatter and Dodge's.

A Recommendation from The Diesel Works!

We have had a wonderful recommendation from The Diesel Works store.

The new store that sells Bachmann Thomas items in the UK has recently given our page a recommended visit and like via the page that they created especially for the announcement of new items and recent releases in their store - The Diesel Works

We are also happy to find that the admin has joined the forum as of late too, which is a real honor for the community, and we are proud to add their site to our list of recommended weblinks.

If you want Bachmann Thomas, this is the place for you to get them! And their prices and friendly service are more than satisfactory. :)

The World of Thomas Modelling - Back Online!

The Community Forum is now back online after a brief update with thanks to Charliebear for making the new banners and skins. The Community is building up rapidly and has already brought in 50+ members since it started in January, earlier this year. :)

For those who don't know about us, here is a brief description of our community.

"The World of Thomas The Tank Engine Modelling, is an online community that specializes in modelling Thomas characters in scales OO/HO, N, O, G and 009.

The Community was established in January 2012 after brief discussions about creating a small manageable online forum, where modellers alike could come and share their interest in modelling Thomas & Friends, no matter what the scale.

We are always willing to help new modellers with works in progress, and always happy to give advise and tips where necessary. We hope that you will all enjoy being part of our Facebook Community group as well as our community forum."

Splatter & Dodge Project - Painted (Batch 4)

The models have been painted and getting ever so close to being complete!

And how they look with the addition of their faces from the Hornby 'Arry and Bert models.

They just require the last touches, weathering, names e.t.c. before they are fully completed.

Hopefully they should be ready by Mid-July. :)

I've painted their chassis with a Matt 'Black' acrylic and the main part of their bodies with Citadel Foundations - Mechanicus Std Grey

Progress so far is looking good and satisfactory, hopefully they will be ready for the filming of Episode 7 of The Railway Stories from Sodor series.

Community Forum - Refurbishment!

The World of Thomas Modelling Forum, is currently undergoing an overhaul, but nothing too major mind, we are updating several boards and categories with new indexes and making it a bit easier to search around for boards of specific interest to our modellers.

A new skin and banner are in the process of being made, and all the board banners are also being replaced with up-to-date images more model rail based.

We hope that you will continue to use the forum, but the overhaul is scheduled to be going on till roughly 9th July (Monday) and will be re-opened upon completion!
We thank you for supporting us and joining in with other modellers alike, and we hope that you will enjoy the new look of the community, once it has been set in place.

kind regards
