Bachmann HO Thomas - Trains On Time..

Important Announcement regarding Bachmann Thomas in the UK.

We have recently been checking with Trains On Time, the online retailer who has in the past couple years, has been a great supplier to UK fans with Bachmann's wonderful Thomas & Friends range. But sadly, we have received news that they are no longer going to be stocking any of the Bachmann locomotives.

Sacred recently e-mailed the shop earlier in the week, and here is the response he was given.

"Hi Stephen,

Yes, we are thinning our stock down so will not be stocking the Bachmann Thomas range anymore.

Sorry about that,

Daniel."

We just would like to take this opportunity to give personal thanks to Trains On Time, for being a wonderful online store, and also thank Daniel for his pleasant business over the last couple years, and wish them all the best for the future.

But for the fans of Bachmann's Thomas range, UK collectors will have to turn to eBay or one of the other US stockists, we will do our best to look around for the best deals.

Pinchy's Progress

Diesel 10's claw is slowly starting to take form, it's on the the trickiest parts of the model being built at current, but hopefully it won't be too hard to render it into a functioning claw/grabber.

It's being made from styrene, and Albion Alloys tubing.

Currently, the claw is done, i am just now working on the mechanism to make it look and work manually by hand, i will post more photos very soon of how he looks.

The World of Thomas Modelling - Community Page!

We now have a link to the World of Thomas Modelling Community added to our updates page, a page has also been created which will talk about the community and what it is all about, which will be worked on during the course of the week.

We are a small community at that, simple and easy, and clean from spam.

Our aim is to model Thomas the Tank Engine characters from the TV Series and Railway Series sides of the Thomas world, it doesn't matter what the scale is, we are dedicated modellers, and enjoy the hobby for what it is supposed to be about, fun and challenging!

If you are a Thomas Modeller, and looking for help with future projects, look no further. :)

Diesel 10 - Work in Progress (Part III)

Both faces from the CGI and Magic Railroad 'Trackmaster' Diesel 10 models have arrived and carefully been cut way from the molded bodies, they are going to need a slight touch up paint-wise where the blade left some marks, but the Magic Railroad face is going to need a complete redo as the pupils are somewhat bigger the the eyes themselves.. Which i think might have been an error by the manufacturers.

The claw is slowly starting to take shape as it comes together, it is being made from styrene sheets and a few other bits and pieces,  It will hopefully be made adjustable, but i am sure that in time, it will look more like the movie and CGI models of Diesel 10.

Photos of his progress so far, will soon be posted. :)

Diesel 10 - Making the Claw/Grabber!

The next step in the project will be to make the claw that is mounted on top of his roof, this is going to be the tricky part of this project, since it is a fairly unusual thing to have on a Diesel locomotive. With help from a friend and fellow Thomas modeller, i will hopefully have some plans which will be useful to make the claw as accurate as possible.

This screen shot shows the detail of the claw, you can just make out the brackets on the roof that the claw sits on when it's not in use, but again, it is something unusual to find on a real 'Warship'. I might even fill in the gaps on the front and rear of the chassis, where the LIMA coupling hooks would be, and make the open spaces below the buffer beams, fully closed like show here.

I'm away this weekend out of town, so the project will continue either late Sunday or the Monday, when i will have more new work in progress images ready for show. :)

Diesel 10 - Work in Progress (Part II)

More progress is slowly being made with modelling Diesel 10, the gaps have been filled in with model filler, and the front of the model to house the face has been carefully cut away. Diesel 10's face has also been carefully made more accurate in size as it was over hanging the front of the loco body.
The chassis has been glued back together, and now needs to have weight added, since the block is too large to fit back inside the modified body.

I have bought some 'Deluxe Materials - Liquid Gravity' to give the chassis the desired weight and sturdiness, which i will glue inside the loco before the body is place back onto the new chassis.
